It is a hot one today, 95 with mostly sunny skies. The good news is the movie does not start until 8:30 tonight, well after the day's peak heat, so it should be comfortable once the sun goes down. Monday and Tuesday hold steady in the low to mid 90s.

Tonight's Cinema Sundays pick is Miracle, and the schedule has shifted for the rest of the summer. Food trucks and pre-show fun start at 7pm, with lawn games and the Youth Passport activity, tonight themed around sports mini-games and a hockey shoot-out challenge. The movie itself now starts at 8:30pm, later than the earlier dusk start time from past showings.

It is all free except the food trucks, held at the Basehor Civic Campus on N 158th Street. Bring lawn chairs or blankets, and remember the campus is alcohol free and tobacco free.

A schedule note worth flagging. Field of Dreams, originally planned as part of the Cinema Sundays lineup, was postponed because of last month's heat advisory. It has now been rescheduled to Friday, August 14, with a baseball skill challenge and ballpark concessions planned around it.

Worth noting, that is also the first day of school for 7th, 8th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders, so it could make for a nice way to close out the first day back.
