🐴 Wyandotte County Riding Academy Sells Homes to Stay Close to Riders

A heartwarming story out of neighboring Bonner Springs: for 12 years, Great Plains Adaptive Riding Academy has served Wyandotte County with specialized riding lessons for people with special needs, growing to 36 riders. When land prices rose sharply after the Chiefs stadium announcement, the nonprofit's executive director and lead instructor sold their own homes to buy a permanent facility just across the county line, choosing to stay close rather than relocate farther away and risk losing their riders and volunteers.

"It's very important to us to stay in the area... we take pride in being a family," said executive director Laurie Mosier.
