Today is mild and pleasant, 84 and mostly sunny. Tuesday warms up to 90 with rain chances starting to build, and Wednesday brings a real chance of storms at 84 with 54 percent. A nice stretch overall after everything we just came through.

After a genuinely brutal stretch of heat, this week feels like a reset. Highs stay in the low 80s to low 90s, comfortable by August standards, and real rain chances build by Wednesday. It is a good week to catch up on anything outdoors that got put off during the worst of the heat.

The city's summer concert series wraps up this week. Third Thursdays: Concerts on the Lawn featuring Damien Gunn lands on Thursday, August 20 at the Civic Campus, the actual third Thursday of the month. Food trucks and lawn games typically start before the music, free to attend.
With the weather finally cooperating, it is worth a reminder that Field of Dreams is one of Basehor's better kept secrets for an evening out. Along with Basehor City Park, it is one of the city's go to spots for a family picnic, a pickup game, or just a walk while the weather is nice.
If you have not been out that way in a while, this mild stretch is a good excuse.
