100 Years of Growing Together: The Leavenworth County Fair Hits a Century

Fair photo goes here

Mark your calendars, Basehor: the Leavenworth County Fair celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, running July 28 through August 1 at the fairgrounds in Tonganoxie.

What started in 1926 as a downtown Tonganoxie celebration of a bumper corn crop has grown into the county's signature summer tradition. This year's centennial edition brings the classics: the parade, carnival rides, 4-H and FFA exhibits, livestock shows, a demolition derby, rodeo action, and fair food worth the drive down 24/40.
