Cinema Sundays: Ferdinand Sunday, July 12
Pack the lawn chairs, wrangle the kids, and point the car toward the Civic Campus this Sunday, Cinema Sundays brings Ferdinand to the Amphitheater lawn, and it's completely free to attend.
The animated film tells the story of Ferdinand, a big, gentle bull who would much rather stop to smell flowers than fight in the arena. It's funny, warm-hearted, and exactly the kind of movie that plays perfectly under a July evening sky with popcorn in hand. On top of the film, Basehor Parks & Rec brings the full Cinema Sundays experience: a dessert truck rolls in, free popcorn and snacks are provided, and there are movie-themed mini-events before the screening to keep the little ones entertained.
No tickets needed just show up, find your patch of lawn, and settle in. Blankets, lawn chairs, and well-behaved four-legged friends are all welcome. The series continues through August, so if this Sunday doesn't work out, The Goonies (July 26) and Miracle (August 9) are on deck.
