Local pet owners have a new option when a sick or injured animal can't wait for a regular appointment. Basehor Veterinary Clinic & Urgent Care now offers extended-hours walk-in urgent care services for emergencies, including injuries, sudden illnesses, and life-threatening situations. Mycritters

The expansion was recently highlighted in The Leavenworth Times, which reported on Dr. Kelly Lightfoot's decision to add an urgent care facility as part of the Basehor Vet Clinic. Kspress

The clinic has deep roots in the community. Founded in 1977 by Dr. Larry Ringel, the family-owned practice has served the Basehor area for over four decades. Dr. Kelly Vader Lightfoot took over the clinic in 2009 and now leads a team that includes Dr. Kathi Alvested, who specializes in feline medicine, and Dr. Nick Jasso. Mycritters

Beyond urgent care, the clinic offers wellness services, vaccinations, diagnostic testing, microchipping, and orthopedic procedures including TPLO surgery and fracture repair. Mycritters

Contact the clinic: (913) 724-1711. For after-urgent-care-hours emergencies, the clinic directs pet owners to MVES or Blue Pearl. Appointments and prescription refills are handled by phone or through the free PetDesk app — not by email. Basehor
